🍽️ Food and Beverage

I am a middle-aged man with an appetite for fine food and drinks. I'm a weekend butcher with bulk meat from Costco, and a weekday cook who favors Japanese and Italian cuisine. Although I'm currently taking a break for health reasons, I've been a drink enthusiast who enjoys traditional liquors, beer, distilled spirits, wine, and whiskey, depending on the season.

🐶 Animal

I am very fond of animals. Birds are my favorites - ducks, parrots, penguins, and chickens, too. I also like dogs a lot. I'm a dog lover, but after co-raising one, I realized it's not something easily done, so now I just enjoy watching other people's pets. Anyway, my Instagram and YouTube algorithms are filled with quacks and woofs.

🦅 Baseball

I've been an Eagles fan since 1991. No, I am not a typical Eagles fan — a memeified "Buddha" who endures loss as a daily routine and embraces the fate to lose. The difficult seasons in recent years have made me a less ardent baseball fan. The terrible 2015-2017 seasons with the corn left a significant scar on my baseball soul, and since then, I only watch when they're doing well. This season is quite one of the best ones in recent years.

🏃‍♂️ Sports

I used to enjoy various sports, but as a middle-aged man, I've been slowing down. SCUBA and golf, which I thought I'd do more of as I got older, are now occasional activities, and since minor injuries have become more frequent, I approach weightlifting with caution. I still consistently practice DDP Yoga, which has taken care of my physical health over the past decade.

🎬 Movies

I enjoy classic movies and those from the 90s—though it's somewhat sad that the 90s are now considered "classics." Lately, I've been revisiting 90s films, with some of my favorites being Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, LA Confidential, and Fight Club. I recently watched Fight Club again, and hearing "We're the middle children of history" in 2024 made me wonder if it should now be viewed as a satire, but it's still a great movie.

📚 Readings

These days, reading has become my most active hobby. I aim to read about a book every fortnight, trying to cover a variety of genres: classics, science, novels, finance, coding, and self-development. I'm on pace to meet about 75% of my reading goals this year. Lately, I've been entertaining the idea of spending a year alone with my fully loaded e-reader at a remote lighthouse or forest watchtower.

🎮 Gaming

From the first time I played Sonic the Hedgehog until my eyes were sore, gaming has been a part of my life. I've nourished my soul with classics like Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV, Uncharted Waters II, Diablo, HOMM3, Ultima Online, Elder Scrolls IV, RDR2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and BG3.
